Invasive sargassum is harvested from coastal waters, removing destructive blooms while sourcing our raw material.

Our coatings are applied to paperboard using your existing coating equipment. No new machinery or line retooling is required.
Ecoplasticity was born from a simple frustration: every "sustainable" coating asked manufacturers to accept worse performance, higher costs, or a complete retool. We refused.
Seaweed has been forming natural barriers for millions of years. We learned to apply it. Now we make it available to the packaging lines that feed the world.
We started with a simple question: how can packaging protect products without leaving behind plastic waste? For us, the answer came from something already washing onto coastlines in huge amounts: sargassum seaweed.
Instead of treating seaweed as waste, we use it as the foundation for natural barrier coatings that can replace plastic-based coatings in food packaging. Our goal is not to ask brands to completely rebuild the way they package products, but to give them a more sustainable material that can still perform in the systems they already use.
We want Ecoplasticity to feel like a practical step forward. It is a way to reduce plastic, make use of an overlooked natural resource, and help packaging move toward something cleaner without making sustainability feel out of reach.
Global Food Packaging Market
The entire industry is transitioning away from plastic. We provide the only drop-in solution that matches fossil-fuel performance.
Annual Sargassum Invasions
Tons of sargassum invade Caribbean & Gulf coastlines annually, choking ecosystems. We harvest this waste as our primary feedstock.
The Persistence of Plastic
Conventional plastic coatings persist in landfills indefinitely without intervention. EcoPlasticity coatings vanish in 12 weeks.
Full compost breakdown
Fully breaks down in natural environments without leaving microplastic residues or toxic leaching.
Our coatings are designed to deliver the same performance manufacturers expect from traditional plastic liners, while also being 100% compostable, recyclable, bio-based.
Yes. Our coatings are specifically developed for food-contact packaging applications and meet all food-grade compliance standards.
Yes. Our coatings are designed to be compatible with commonly used paperboard and fiber-based packaging materials. It is a drop-in solution that is easily integrated with existing coating and converting equipment.
